Joy And Adrenaline: Gronkowski And The Buccaneers

0

With less than two weeks left until the Buccaneers’ season opener against the Saints, the Bucs are looking at Rob Gronkowski and how many reps he will get.

The tight end battle the Buccaneers have is an interesting one; with three solid tight ends that could get an equal amount of reps. However Gronkowski has been struggling during team scrimmages according to Bruce Arians.

“Play it by ear,” Arians told Eduardo Encina of the Tampa Bay Times  on Tuesday. Gronkowski, along with others on the team, struggled during a 16-play team drive in a scrimmage. The tight end won’t have control over how many reps he sees, but he will bring “joy and adrenaline” to the football field.

Gronkowski could be a huge part of the Bucs’ offense, and of course he’s going to have a hard time getting back into things. That’s what happens when you miss a full year of football. Plus, he’s in a new system with new coaches and players; it’s going to be tough for anyone.

He is with his long time quarterback and friend Tom Brady, but you can’t deny the fact that missing one-year could hurt any player. Since joining the Buccaneers I knew he was going to have a hard time adjusting to not only the Florida heat, but also a new system.

Now that’s not saying he won’t have a great year, because again he’s here with Tom Brady. And who knows him better than Brady? Gronkowski will be fine; he’s working off the rust and getting back into the swing of things.

The Buccaneers have a tough task ahead of them going into New Orleans. But with Gronkowski on the field the Bucs have a shot to take the first game of the year.
