Tick Tock Tick Tock. It’s time to throw the paper away and replace that paper with turf. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the “Paper Champions” of the 2020 off season, and that means absolutely nothing starting this week. Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, LeSean McCoy and Leonard Fournette are no longer names on paper. They are names on jerseys. Buccaneers jerseys, and it just doesn’t get more exciting than this.
Empty Handed Champions
There is no trophy for looking good on paper and there is no parade for winning the offseason. This offseason has been a fun period for Buccaneers fans but it is now officially over and its time for the games to begin. Real football and real blood, sweat and broken bones start now.
The grass is cut and the lines are drawn. The endzones are painted and new stadiums sit ready to devour fans that will not come due to a scourge that has marred everyday life for a nation hungry for the gridiron clash.

Even as final rosters are being set and practice squads being filled like tummies on Christmas morning, laces are being tied and pads are strapped on for real. It’s time to celebrate the beginning of the glorious violence once again. The cries of “we look good on paper” fall silent and teams find out how good they really are on the green gridiron battlefield.
So, Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans, raise a glass and lift your arms one last time. Congratulations! The Buccaneers are the Paper Champions of 2020! Now let’s find out if they are REAL champions. We know the Buccaneers may look like it today, but today is already in the past.
Toe, Meet Leather
This has been a fun offseason. This may even have been the best of offseasons, but it is no longer offseason. Its time to step off the paper. The air is soon to become crisper and the leaves will begin to crunch across this great land. The stands may sit silent for a season but one thing is certain. The fans will not stay silent. Let the cheering commence!
