Doug Martin and the Buccaneers are in the midst of contract negotiations

Dirk Koetter made it clear that he wants Doug Martin to be re-signed. Martin has also stated that he loves Tampa and wishes to remain here. Hopefully, they can hash out a proper contract as it is clear that Tampa will not use the franchise tag on Doug Martin.

“The Bucs have looked at Martin’s entirety with the team as a whole when assessing his value. He had two injury-filled years sandwiched between two Pro Bowl seasons in Tampa Bay. Both sides remain hopeful of reaching a consensus on a new contract prior to the start of free agency on March 9.
