Although nothing is finalized, nor has there been an official announcement, Megatron has reportedly told the Lions that he has decided to retire. The former 2nd overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft had captured the attention of just about every single football fan, since entering the league 9 short years ago. Many considered Johnson to become the “next best thing”. In fact, he has become one of the better receivers of our time. However, it seems Megatron has become the second star-studded athlete to come down with the Motor City Blues. We all know the Hall of Fame career Barry Sanders had. He was rated the #1 Most Elusive Rusher of All Time by NFL.com in 2008. Unfortunately, Sanders’ decided to bring his fascinating career to and end at the young age of 30. Calvin Johnson, easily the most decorated Lions’ receiver in franchise history, also 30 years of age, has decided to hang up the cleats. Ironically, two of the NFL’s best players of all time began and ended their career with the Super Bowl-less Detroit Lions.
