The AFC North is a physical division known for its physical style of play on defense and for its physical running schemes. Could this be the reason that there have been so many issues with AFC North players and substance abuse? Over the off-season, the AFC North has had four players suspended for violating the league’s Substance Abuse Policy. Nick Boyle and Will Hill both were suspended for ten games due to violations and since this was Hill’s third offense the Ravens released him. Martavias Bryant was also suspended but his suspension length was a quite a bit longer at sixteen games. Josh Gordon, whose new nickname should be, “Can’t Get right”, had his reinstatement turned down following yet, another failed drug test. Four players were already suspended in the AFC North and mandatory substance abuse testing starts next week. How many more players will be suspended, in what could be soon called, the Stoner Division?
