Defensive back Javien Elliot grabbed the attention of GM Jason Licht during FSU’s Pro day where he impressed the Buccaneers GM with a 4.41/ 40 time. Elliot was a walk on, at FSU in 2015, he played in only ten games but, had a respectable 29 solo tackles, four of them for losses. He also walked away with an interception, a sack, and two forced fumbles. He was also nominated for the Burlsworth trophy that is given to the nation’s top player, who began their careers as a walk on. He earned starts in the last six games of the 2015 season where he performed very well. He will have his work cut out for him in making this Buccaneers roster. However, the way he walked on in college, played one season, and then walked on to an NFL team full of secondary talent, shows that this young man may walk his way into a long lasting career in the NFL.
