The San Diego Chargers began their minicamp without first round draft pick Joey Bosa and he remains unsigned. No. 3 overall selected DE Joey Bosa is staying away from practices because the Chargers and the rookie are in a stalemate. Bosa also missed the final day of OTA’s. Bosa remains the only unsigned pick in the 2016 Draft’s top 19 selections. The contract issues surround guaranteed pay and his signing bonus. Bosa will not be fined for missing practice because he is not under contract. Once this is resolved, there will be an added pressure on Bosa to earn his money. Bosa will likely be a major impact for the Chargers’ defense, but the stalemate on Bosa’s part will place an added layer of scrutiny during the rookie’s debut season.
