Kwon “Show Time” Alexander, through his first 12 games had 93 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and nine pass breakups, an incredible performance by anyone’s standards, let alone a rookie. Let’s not fail to mention that he had two forced fumbles, one which was the most incredible thing I had ever seen.
The robbery of Julio Jones.
Alexander was upset by the suspension, but showed humility and maturity, by taking responsibility for his actions and getting it out of the way quickly, in order to move on. I know he cannot wait to get out on the field in the regular season, and continue proving how good he is and frankly, neither can I. “It was very tough, especially for me, how much I love football. I made a mistake. It will never happen again. It hurt me a lot. It put me back in my place. It made me focus a lot, and I just can’t wait to get back on the field and show ya’ll what I can do.”
Alexander is excited for the Buccaneers new defensive schemes implemented by Mike Smith and says it will be much different than Lovie’s attempt to resurrect the old Tampa 2. “It’s going to be real different. Under Lovie, you’re basically a cover-2 team, Tampa 2. It’s real different, very multiple. It’s just going to be a great defense. I can’t wait to get out on the field and show ya’ll how this is going to play out.”
