It has been confirmed by NFL Network’s Rand Geltin that the Chiefs and Eric Berry will not reach an agreement by the deadline. The Chiefs and the safety were still miles apart in negotiations as Berry was seeking a five -year $50 million dollar contract, similar to Harrison Smith’s contract he received from the Vikings. Eric Berry will now have to play under the franchise tag, but will likely hit the free agency next season.
