It’s none other than my old high school friend, former Bucs DB coach, and current Denver Broncos DB coach Joe Woods!
Fresh off a Super Bowl 50 win and back in his hometown of Vandergrift, PA to present our alma mater, Kiski Area High School with a replica Lombardi Trophy.
Woods was in town in late June for a few days for the trophy presentation and also spoke to the current Kiski Area football team.
Woods served as the Bucs DB coach in 04-05, before a 13yr stint with the Minnesota Vikings. He signed with Denver in the spring of 2015 just in time to win the golden anniversary Super Bowl. He also spent a short time in Oakland during the 2014 season.
Woods, a 1988 Kiski Area grad went on to college at Illinois St before starting his college coaching career at Muskingham College in 1992. His 11 yr college coaching career included stops at Eastern Michigan, Northwestern State, Grand Valley State, Kent St, Hofstra and Western Michigan before breaking into the NFL with the Bucs in 2004.
Woods has gathered 24 years as a football coach, mainly with DBs.
