Joey Bosa and Chargers finally agree to deal

After one of the most controversial rookie holdouts in history, the San Diego Chargers and former Ohio state star Joey Bosa have finally come to an agreement. Some details have yet to be announced but it’s reported that Bosa has signed a 4 year/$25.8 million deal. The fully guaranteed contract comes with a $17 million signing bonus. The largest upfront bonus installment in Chargers history for either a veteran or a rookie. Chargers General Manager released a statement saying “We look forward to having Joey join us and getting him prepared as quickly as possible for the 2016 season”. A complete opposite from the contentious statements released just a week ago. Getting the contract signed so late doesn’t leave much time for Bosa to develop before the season starts. The hope is, though, that he can become the disruptive 280-pound force that he was in college. Bosa’s holdout triggered some bad blood on both sides but now it’s time to bury the hatchet and get the rookie pass rusher ready for the upcoming season.
