It seems that the former Panthers/ Cowboys defensive end, who has been out of work for the 2016 season, is now deciding to pursue a career in mixed martial arts. Hardy who is only 28 years old, has not been signed by any team nor does it look promising that one will. He may have had a chance, however, the recent arrest for cocaine possession has thrown any likelihood of a signing , right out of the window.

Greg Hardy, who reportedly does not have any martial arts background, has been training for the past several months and could debut as a heavyweight MMA fighter as early as 2017. Hardy, who has basically thwarted all possibilities of any future NFL career, seems to be focused on entering his latest career venture.

Greg Hardy had signed with the Dallas Cowboys, in 2015, but it was only a one-year deal, in which he was suspended for four games for his 2014 domestic violence incident. Hardy who missed only one game in 2014, and made the Pro Bowl in 2013 for recording 15 sack that season. In his six-year NFL career, Hardy had recorded 239 tackles, 16 pass defends and 40 sacks.
