Sharper, who is now 41 years old, will be eligible for parole in eight years. He has already served close to two years while waiting for sentencing. Based on California State law, Sharper must serve at least half of his sentence before he his able to apply for parole. However, Sharper was also sentenced to 18 years by a Louisiana judge and that sentence is being appealed. If that ruling stands then Sharper will have to spend more time than the eight years before he is able to file for any type of parole.
