The Underwear Olympics, or the Scouting Combine as it is professionally known, is an event where future prospects find out how fast they can run in a straight line, how high they can jump, how much weight they can lift, and how well they can move their feet through obstacles; However, the leaders in these events have historically proven not to be indications of how well a player will perform as a pro.
The NFL is expanding access for fans at the combine, they will be able to witness up close events like interviews with the media, autographs, bench press, and are even allowed to participate in the 40-yard dash themselves and other events via “The Combine Corner”. There will be a limit of 6,000 non-transferable tickets handed out for the combine that will take place between March 2nd through the 5th and fans who take place in these events must sign a waiver in case an injury occurs. NFL senior vice president of events, Peter O’Reilly stated that the NFL wants to allow fans to get closer to the game.
NFL team brass will be on hand during these events as well. So should a fan do well? I’d assume that they could be noticed.
