JR Sweezy: One Bad Dude with Attitude.

With the Bucs being a power run football team for quite some time now, they’ve always needed to add some nastiness and pure grit to the line to establish that power run between the tackles. A real agitator. Only a real jerk, an a-hole kind of guy can fit that role. A guy who comes ready to beat you senseless every single down like you stole from him personally. Practice or game day, he’s bringing it to his opponent fiercely.

Meet J.R. Sweezy, very possibly one of the baddest dudes in football made of the Richie Incognito mold. Some call it “swag”, some call it arrogance. Some call it an inherent mean streak. The Bucs had that kind of guy in Logan Mankins before his abrupt retirement last year after an 11-year career. GM Jason Licht brought in Sweezy to fill that very void left by Mankins. Though big shoes to fill, Sweezy was expected to make a huge impact on the 2016 Bucs until undergoing back surgery and ultimately, a trip to IR for the season.

Kevin Pamphile filled in brilliantly for Sweezy at LG and will undoubtedly give solid competition at the spot, the job is J.R.’s to lose. Jameis can sleep well knowing his blindside is protected by one big, bad, dude. Stick Carriers Unite!
