Vince Young rants in interview, names Ryan Fitzpatrick

“I’d see a quarterback and be like, ‘Dude is garbage, and I’m over here in the kitchen cooking turkey necks!? I hate to name-drop, but Fitzpatrick is still playing!? He leads the league in interceptions, and he’s still F-ing getting paid? I mean, what the “F” is going on?” Vince Young said in a recent Sports Illustrated interview when talking about why he doesn’t tune into NFL games as much anymore.

Bitter Much?

Young, who retired in 2014 after being released by the Browns and was unable to find another team to call home, spent some time with Fitzpatrick in 2012 with the Buffalo Bills but was cut in preseason. Which may be why he zeroed in on Fitzpatrick during his rant.

The 12 year Veteran, Fitzpatrick, did have a pretty rough 2016 season with the Jets, throwing costly interceptions (17), 3rd highest in the league. He ultimately became a free agent but did win a place on the Buccaneers 2017 roster, who were in need of a Veteran QB behind starter Jameis Winston, considering they expect to be serious playoff contenders in the coming season. With 12 years under his belt, 16 starts, 25, 888 passing yards, 166 touchdown passes and a 79.7 career passer rating, 5.3 above the retired Vince Young; Fitzpatrick is a better protection policy, in the event Winston is unable to play than the previous inexperienced QB’s the Bucs have had and brings experience to the Buccaneers game.
