Ronde Barber recently did an interview with the Tampa Bay Times in which some of his comments had been sensationalized by a fan website and lead to many fans believing that Barber was talking trash about defensive tackle, Gerald McCoy.
Barber stated that “You see an attitude emerging, especially at linebacker. Those two guys, Lavonte and Kwon have to be able to drive the bus, especially Kwon, because he has so much energy. If he can consistently be that guy, it will raise the defense.”
However, the misconstruction came from his next comment. “I love Gerald, but for a defensive tackle to drive a team, he has to have a huge personality. I mean like the personality of Sapp or a John Randle.”
Monday’s Twitter rant, by Gerald McCoy, clearly tells a tale of feeling under appreciated and whether or not they were directed towards Barber’s comments, is yet to be said. However, they can easily be misconstrued, as well.
One thing is for certain in all of this, Gerald McCoy is fired up and is done talking!
