Bucs Secondary Gashed

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off a season that left fans with high hopes for the 2017 season. The Buccaneers added Chris Baker and J.J. Wilcox to help stymie the offensively loaded NFC South. If you tuned into Hard Knocks last night you probably held your breath with the rest of Bucs Nation and Miko Grimes. The one thing that can’t happen, did happen. Brent Grimes was carted off the field with a laceration to his shin. The injury doesn’t seem to be one that will keep him out of regular season games, but it will have him on the sidelines during some preseason games.

The Buccaneers depth chart in the secondary is not as deep as it was when training camp opened. The Buccaneers lost Jude Adjei- Barimah for the year. Brent Grimes is now on the shelf with his injury, so what does that mean for the Buccaneers. The next man up is Robert McClain, Jonathan Moxey, and Ryan Smith. For the short-term, I believe these three could play efficiently for Grimes. We will continue to see what the Buccaneers decide to do while Grimes is sidelined. Injuries are one thing that in the past that would’ve demoralized the Buccaneers defense, but with the help of free agent signings and rookies, I think we can overcome this season.
