Lions Sign Former Bucs DE George Johnson.
George Johnson originally signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent back in 2010. In 2011, he appeared in four games for the Buccaneers, recording just 1 tackle. During the 2012 season, Johnson played in 12 games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with a brief two game stint with the Vikings in-between.

After missing the 2013 season, Johnson found his way onto the Detroit Lions roster, playing in all 16 games and recording 23 tackles, with 1 pass defended. In 2015, the Lions traded Johnson back to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 2015 fifth-round draft pick, however the Buccaneers opted to release him after the preseason, where he was once again picked up by the Detroit Lions. After missing all of 2016 with a fractured hip, the Detroit Lions opted to re-sign the 6th-year man out of Rutgers for 2017.

There has to be something special about a guy that 2 teams chose to let him go, and then bring him back. You don’t see that everyday.
