Wrong Decision Made? I Think So.

Was it the wrong decision to let Aguayo walk? Nick Folk has struggled mightily in the last two games. Last week against the Giants he had to make a late kick to win the game, due to his FG misses. Then, Thursday, against New England, Folk went 0-4.

Aguayo got picked up the Bears, after being released by the Bucs, but was cut again by the Bears later in the pre-season.

Many would say Aguayo was far worse than Folk, but numbers do not lie. In the last two games alone Folk has missed five of the last seven FG attempts. Six field goals and one PAT. Aguayo last season missed nine field goals and two PAT’s all last season, with one of those field goal attempts being blocked. It will be unrealistic to think that Folk will not miss a kick for the rest of the season.

With the woes of the kicking game, it is effecting Jameis, with him pressing on plays where he could just eat the play and kick, but instead he is trying to score because it is not guaranteed points with the kicking game. It is going to be very interesting to see how the kicking game goes for the rest of the season. Whether Folk is released or he turns things around.
