Week 8 vs. Carolina Panther Game Prediction by Hagen

So tomorrow’s game against Carolina will be the first divisional game of the year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Needless to say, this will be the most important game for us so far. Carolina has been struggling lately, losing their last game to an underwhelming Chicago Bears. However, the Buccaneers will be without the best player in their secondary, Brent Grimes, in addition to Robert McClain. Without Grimes, our pass defense will most likely look even worse than it recently has and it might be just what a struggling Cam Newton needs to get back on track. If we do not find a way to finally get our pass rush going, our defense might be in for a long day. The fact that Noah Spence is out for the season certainly does not help, either.

On offense Winston’s coming off a strong performance against the Bills. However, I am afraid he will have to throw for 400+ Yards and 4 Touchdowns or more if we want to win this game. An efficient game by Doug Martin, once again, would help tremendously. Carolina’s defense, however, is one of the stronger units in the league, allowing only 81 Yards on the ground per game and only 181 Yards through the air (compared to Tampa’s 114 – 295).

I hope I am wrong about this, but I don’t see us winning this game with the way our defense has been playing. Final score: 31-28 Carolina.

Nevertheless, Go Bucs!
