As of right now, he isn’t focused on what he will do at the end of the 2017 season, he is only focusing on the upcoming Monday Night game vs the Atlanta Falcons. It’s safe to say that he will not be thinking about making a decision until after the season as his focus will remain on each team as they are preparing for them.
Fear of injury and wear and tear on the body could persuade him to retire in order to pursue his dream of being an NBA star. Grimes had sustained a shoulder injury this season, which has slowed him down some, yet, he still plays at a high level. He has three interceptions this year and 8 passes defended. He will be a free agent at the end of this year and he is certainly someone the Buccaneers would like to see return.
The Buccaneers veteran corner back’s wife has stated that they are happy here in Tampa, but where he goes and what he does is a decision that can only be made by him. I’d hate to see him go, but if he does retire to peruse another passion, I will support that decision 100% and am thankful for his participation on our football team.
