Ryan Fitzpatrick, 35, recently stated that he still has a lot left in the tank, and will be returning as the backup quarterback to Jameis for one more season to help our Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has always wanted to remain in Tampa Bay, donning a Buccaneers Jersey on game days, either at our home, Raymond James Stadium, or the opponents.
“For me at this point in my career, I’m probably not going to be given or gifted a chance to start anywhere,” Fitzpatrick said before the season ended. “So there’s a lot of things that go into it that maybe didn’t years ago in terms of family and different situations.”
I enjoyed the year that I had here with the team, and with the Front Office, and especially, how amazing the true Buccaneers fans are.
As far as our team from last year. I think Jameis did a good job this past year. You can see the improvement in his game. So I’d enjoy being back, I enjoyed backing up Jameis and I really enjoyed my role this year. But you never know. We’ll see what happens.” Fitzpatrick went 58.9%, 1,103 yards, 7 TD, and 3 INT in 6 games for Tampa.
Mike Glennon (28) may be cut by the Chicago Bears, and sign with the Tamp Bay Buccaneers. In 2013, he played 13 games with Tampa, and they turned out to be his best years. He went 59.4%,2,608 yards, 19 TD, and 9 INT.
Now I’m going to throw out another name. Let the hate begin, but I think the reason why Mike Glennon could make his way back to Tampa is that Ryan Fitzpatrick is set to become a free agent in just a few short weeks. So, if Tampa Bay doesn’t decide to resign him, then they’ll need to kick off a search for Winston’s new backup.
Licht and Koetter have always been a fan of Glennon, so there’s a chance he could return. One way or another, considering Winston’s Uber case still being in the air, he could be facing suspension, leaving Tampa Bay’s backup quarterback position that much more important heading into the upcoming season.
