Bucs add two and drop three.

Tampa has had much success in signing small town schools and again, they continue with the theme.

Bucs recently signed two small-town tryout players, CB Mark Myers, and OL Ruben Holcomb.

Mark Myers, out of Southeastern University, is trying to become the first player in his school’s history, which began playing football in 2014, to play in an NFL game. Over the past two seasons, Myers has recorded an outstanding 7 interceptions for 140 return yards, 1 forced fumble, and 1 blocked kick. Regardless of the fact that he’s from a small school in a nobody’s division, I feel that those stats are exceptional. His tackles numbers were low over those two seasons at 47, but who needs to tackle when you are going the opposite direction with the ball?

OL Ruben Holcomb out of the University of Indianapolis is a 6’4 320lb brute who was selected as Division II All-American. He started 44 games, during his college career and 12 of those were eat the left tackle position. He will likely play the guard position if he makes the 53 man roster, but it’s great to have another player on the line who can play multiple positions.

In order to make room for these two players on the 90 man roster, the Buccaneers have waived WR Devin Lucien, S Josh Liddell, LB Antonio Simmons.
