Rookie Corners holding their own in OTA’s

In a recent press conference, just a few days into OTA’s, Coach Dirk Koetter seemed pleased with how things are shaping up with the new additions to the team by saying, “A lot of interceptions today, I think they might have broken the One Buc Stadium interception record today; too many, but good for the defense. Good job by those guys.”

When asked specifically about how Carlton Davis is playing, Koetter added, “He’s been real consistent, all of the rookies that are practicing are holding their own, that’s why you draft those guys, and Carlton is off to a very fast start.”

Bucs safety, Justin Evans also chimed in with, “As far as knowing their information when they’re in the meeting rooms, they get called on and have to go up to the board and draw defenses and stuff, it was much better than I was here last year, so that’s really impressive. Then of course, on the field, they’re here for a reason so they obviously can make plays and they’ve been making plays. They’ve been doing good; all of them.”

Mike Evans was also asked how well he thought the rookies were doing, his response was short and sweet, saying, “they look like they belong.”

We’ve still got a little ways to go before the start of the season, but it looks like they’re off to a good start.
