Philadelphia Eagles: Will Preseason Struggles Carry into Regular Season?

0

In December of 2017, the Philadelphia Eagles lost their franchise QB, Carson Wentz, to a knee injury. At that time, the fans of the team thought that the season was over. Many experts also thought that the Eagles season was over as well. However, in stepped Nick Foles. He played at an extremely high level. So high that he led the team to the Super Bowl and an eventual win. The first for the franchise. Foles also won the Super Bowl MVP. Now he is struggling. So what does that mean for the Philadelphia Eagles come week one?

Foles recently injured his throwing shoulder. Although, he had been struggling prior to the injury. At the time of the injury, doctors had not cleared Wentz for full contact. Leaving the fans to wonder if the sky was falling in on the defending Super Bowl Champs.

Doctors have since cleared Wentz but Foles still struggles. Is there a concern? What happens if the Philadelphia Eagles offense struggles in the early weeks of the season? Should Carson Wentz be playing? Why is Foles regressing? These questions and more will be flying throughout the first few weeks of the 2018 NFL Season.

These questions may be obsolete once the season starts. Carson Wentz may return to the form that he was playing at prior to the injury. If that is the case, the Eagles will once again be at that top of their game. If not and Foles continues to struggle, the Eagles could once again find themselves in a fight for playoff supremacy.
