Welcome Back Donteea Dye!

The Tampa Buccaneers have signed three players ahead of the final preseason game. One of them is, of course, a familiar face and a one-time fan fave. Dye has been waived and re-signed by Tampa so many times that he should be awarded some kind of trophy. The final reason for the release was due to the fact he had not been able to overcome his hamstring injury and was incapable of getting back into football shape, back in 2016. Freddie Martino was signed to replace him.

Another re-addition is that of long snapper Garrison Sanborn. Sanborn was Tampa’s long snapper, last season. Tampa opted out of keeping Sanborn, heading into the 2018 season, in favor of Drew Ferris. However, Ferris seemingly made one too many mistakes as his final one, was a bad snap which caused another missed FG, during last week’s game against the Lions. Ferris is by no means out a job as both he and Sanborn will compete in the Thursday’s final preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The final signing is that of RB Devine Redding, who was signed by the Chiefs in 2017 as an undrafted rookie out of the Indiana University Bloomington (Hoosiers). He never really got off to a good start in KC and was waived prior to the start of the 2017 season. While at the Indiana University Bloomington, he played in 33 games, recording 2,252 yards on the ground for 17 TDs and caught 40 passes through the air for 2 TDs. The signing of Redding likely means that the Terrance West’s visit ended with no sort of contract on the horizon.
