ESPN Top 50 Includes 2 Pro Bowl Bucs

Just this week ESPN released its Top 50 NFL players and yes, some of our own Buccaneers players have made the list.

Gerald McCoy, the Pro Bowl defensive tackle who has been a building block for this Tampa Bay defense found himself at number 46 on the list. McCoy, who’s career has been plagued with a coaching carousel for the past few years found himself with another new defensive line coach again this year when the Buccaneers brought in Brentson Buckner from Arizona to help solidify a defensive line that struggled to find its cohesiveness as of late.

With some new faces, such as JPP and Vinny Curry being brought in to help raise the bar of this defensive line, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more defensive players from the Bucs making this list next year.

On the offensive side of the ball, Mike Evan’s found himself onto that list as well. Squeezing in at number 49, Mike has made a name for himself around the Tampa Bay area as well as Raymond James Stadium. Mike, also a former Pro Bowler has seen his stock rise year after year as he has become a leader for this young Buccaneer receiving corps, minus of course, DeSean Jackson, who has also taken on some leadership roles as teammates admire what he has done in the league as well. With Mike receiving a nice new deal in the offseason, you can expect more hard work and dedication as he looks to cement himself in the Buccaneer history books as one of their best receivers ever for this franchise.

With the new season approaching and a lot of talent on this roster, who do you think could find themselves on this list next year?  Go Bucs!
