Welcome Aboard Marcus Williams!

In a move that makes complete sense in the light of Hargreaves placement on IR, the Buccaneers announced the signing of CB Marcus Williams. Originally, an undrafted player, Williams has found success playing in New York for the Jets and for the Houston Texans, although was most recently released by New Orleans.

The stat line on Williams shows that he has 27 passes defended and 10 picks and the tape suggests that, when comfortable in the scheme, he can be a ball hawking player. Hopefully that will become evident as the man from Minneapolis sees action on the field. Given the current injury situation in the team with Corner Backs it’s very unlikely that Williams has been brought to hold a clipboard and be there if needed. As I said earlier, this move makes sense and the Bucs could have found a diamond in the rough to solidify a shaky defensive backfield.
