Bucs QB Controversy Is Alive And Well

There might of been a report from Jay Glazer that Ryan Fitzpatrick will remain the starter past week 3 with the caveat of unless he does something “dramatically bad.” Without a doubt tonight was a dramatically bad performance (411 yard 3TD/ 3INT and 81 QB rating). One must wonder if HC Dirk Koetter will make the switch against the Bears in week 4.

Even though the many mistakes on offense weren’t all on Fitzpatrick, he made more than his fair share of crucial errors in the first half that gave the Steelers a 20 point lead at the end of the first half with 3 INT’s. The Bucs did nearly pulled off an amazing comeback, it wasn’t enough at the end though as critical mistakes early in the game cost them ultimately.

With Ryan Fitzmagic also comes Ryan Fitzrusty, and his career is riddled with plenty of examples of such. Monday night was the unfortunate game where we saw the latter. Koetter and the rest of the coaching staff must figure out if the now sudden Fitzrusty’s deflating play will carry over to week 4.

Jameis Winston is now back after a three game suspension, and has been seen practicing as if he’s starting via Instagram and Twitter. From the small glimpses we have seen, he looks sharp and looks like a man on a mission. A man I believe, when given the opportunity to play, will come back playing lights out. Given Fitpatrick’s down right terrible performance Monday, it might be hard not to hand the job back to Winston for week 4.
