No The Bucs Aren’t Pursuing Le’Veon Bell

News broke Sunday via ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Steelers are in fact listening to trade offers for Le’Veon Bell. Then news “broke” via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that the Bucs are rumored to be a “good fit”. Along with the Colts and Jets as well. That’s it. Not verified or even something with a little more substance… Just “rumored to be a good fit.” Well, Tom Brady is rumored to be a “good fit” for Tampa Bay. See I can do it too.

What you don’t know is as soon as this news “broke” Bucs Report had an article drafted and ready to publish, but we had pause because of the lack of substance and verification of such rumors. I’ve looked there’s nothing. Even though others have published articles breaking this “news”, we at Bucs Report will not publish any news about the Bell trade until it’s verified by a legitimate NFL source/insider or the Bucs front office themselves. Until that time we are not comfortable reporting this as fact. As good, substantive, and factual content is more important than pure page views.

So no the Bucs aren’t seriously pursuing Bell. At least yet, and as NFL fans know this league is always full of surprises. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Times confirms this, and the reason why it would be difficult to. You can’t offer him an extension while franchised. That’s a really expensive short term rental in my opinion.

With that said, stay tuned to BucsReport.com as the story develops.
