A Case For Eric Reid?

Ever since news of Eric Reid’s release, fans have been screaming for the Bucs to sign the veteran DB.

Some interesting facts have come to light, and that is that Reid can play the Safety very well and may just fit our scheme.

Eric Reid can play Free Safety and Strong Safety. He excels in the Will linebacker position, making him a flexible asset and perfect for any hybrid defense.

Reid is efficient as a run defender and can line up in the box or be used as an outside edge rusher.

The fact that Reid is able to play multiple positions it makes him a right fit for the Buccaneers’ defense. However, the possibility of Conte returning from IR and the recent acquisition of Safety Andrew Adams does make one wonder how well of a fit he really is.

I do believe that Reid would do well playing in Tampa and we would surely benefit from his talent.

Reid has played in the NFL for 5 seasons in San Francisco, recording 10 interceptions, 36 pass defends, 2 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, one sack, and 264 tackles in 70 games.
