NFL: Fantasy Football Week Four Starts n Sits

0

Week 4 is upon us. This is the first week the bye weeks are in place. Now is the time you begin to scour the waiver wire, and matchup plays become more prevalent. This week lends for some strong matchups. So let us delve into week 4 and see who you should start and sit on your fantasy team.

Starts

QB

Case Keenum – Denver Broncos

While the Kansas City Chiefs are lighting up the scoreboard, so are their opponents. The Chiefs defense is 30th in the NFL in totals points (92) and last in the league in yards per game (474). This should play well into the hands of a Broncos offense that struggled in week 3 and is looking to get back on track.

RB

Chris Carson – Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have a division matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cards rank 29th in the NFL in rushing defense. The Seattle offense woke up a bit last week against the Dallas Cowboys. This should be another solid performance for the Seahawks offense.

WR

Taylor Gabriel – Chicago Bears

The Bears’ offense has been somewhat of a surprise thus far in 2018. Week 4 lends another good defense for the Bears to exploit. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 31st in the NFL in pass defense. They are giving up an average of 363 yards per game. That should lend a helping hand to the Bears’ offense and Gabriel.

TE

Zach Ertz – Philadelphia Eagles

TE is such a fickle position in fantasy. It can definitely help your team with a solid output. That is exactly what Ertz should have. Although the Tennessee Titans sit 10th in passing defense, Carson Wentz likes his TE and should find him quite often.

K

Sam Ficken – Los Angeles Rams

Here is a matchup that many may stay away from. However, I think the Rams will have a solid game on Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings. While many believe they will be playing mad due to being embarrassed by the Buffalo Bills, I think that is just a glimpse of what is ahead for the Vikings.

Defense

Los Angeles Chargers

I would not be playing this defense if Jimmy Garoppolo was still in at QB. However, with C.J. Beathard taking the reins, this could be an ugly game for the San Francisco 49ers. On the reverse, it could be a fantastic game for the Chargers’ defense.

Sits

QB

Ryan Fitzpatrick – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs struggled early against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. Although they found their groove in the second half it was a little too late. This is a game in which the Bucs may struggle again. The Chicago Bears are not a defense that plays well with magic.

RB

Jamaal Williams – Green Bay Packers

Williams will continue to see diminished touches as the season continues because Aaron Jones returned from suspension last week. The Packers have another tough defense this week against the Buffalo Bills. 1+1=2, meaning that diminished touches + Bills defense = to not play Williams.

WR

Marquise Goodwin – San Francisco 49ers

The loss of Jimmy G is really going to affect this offense. It was just last year with Beathard as the starting QB that the 49ers struggled. That will happen again this season. Playing Goodwin is no good for this or future weeks.

TE

Vance McDonald – Pittsburgh Steelers

McDonald will probably make highlight reels for the rest of the season with his stiff arm of Chris Conte. However, those highlights may be few and far between against the Baltimore Ravens. These two teams always battle each other to the hilt. Nonetheless, do not look for high scores from players.

K

Robbie Gould – San Francisco 49ers

C.J. Beathard is under center. I believe this will cost the 49ers’ offense many scoring opportunities. The Niners have suddenly become fool’s Gould.

Defense

Miami Dolphins

Although the Dolphins have been one of the better fantasy defenses throughout the past three weeks, week four brings a hornets nest called the New England Patriots. This team does not want to lose three in a row and may just take it out on the Dolphins.

There you have your week 4 starts ‘n sits. Be sure you are paying attention to your bye weeks going forward. They will make or break your fantasy team. Good luck!
