Where was D-Jack Monday night?

After seeing the chemistry between Ryan Fitzpatrick and DeSean Jackson in the first two games of the season, during which Jackson was a favored target for Fitz, fans were excited to see what the duo would bring to the field for Monday Night Football against the Steelers. They were expecting to see more explosive plays from Jackson. That wasn’t the case.

DeSean racked up 146 yards and 2 touchdowns in week 1, as well as 129 yards and one touchdown in week 2, putting him at the top of the list in receiving yards in the NFL. In week 3, though, he was limited to just 37 yards and wasn’t targeted nearly as often as fans would have liked.

Even though we didn’t get to see more of Jackson during MNF, we did get to see Mike Evans, and according to Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com, Evans and Jackson “are the first pair of teammates in league history to each have at least 300 receiving yards and three touchdown catches through their team’s first three games of the season.”

When you add Chris Godwin into the mix, that makes the Buccaneers the “first team in NFL history to have three players with at least three touchdown receptions each through the first three games of the season.”
