Falcon Hunting

With the Buccaneers coming off an ugly loss to Chicago many are wondering: What’s next? The Atlanta Falcons! In the most competitive division in football this is one of the premier rivalries and I’m backing the Bucs to claim victory number 3 on the season, continuing the Bucs unbeaten run in the NFC South.

The coaching staff know that any such performance as seen against the Bears will put them on the hot seat so all the necessary preparations will be made. The bye week came at the best time for Tampa Bay as it has allowed key players carrying knocks to rest up and recover ready to mount a fresh challenge on the division.

But why am I so confident? The Bucs didn’t match up well against Chicago but that will all change this Sunday in Atlanta with the key battle being between our defensive line and the Falcons offensive line. The Falcons are coming off a heavy loss against Pittsburgh in which that line looked like a turnstile, surrendering 6 sacks and could only generate enough push for 62 yards rushing.

Many will suggest that the questionable secondary for the Bucs will be a liability, but I firmly expect this game will see our defensive performance improve with a multi-sack game.

Defensively Atlanta isn’t what many talking heads suggested, and this coming game could well be a breakout performance for Winston who will look to solidify his claim for QB1 status.

The sky will stop falling for at least a week as the Buccaneers march to 3-2 off a 35-17 victory.
