The Buccaneer Re-sign LB Devante Bond

Bond, who was selected by Tampa in the 6th round of the 2016 NFL draft, missed his entire rookie season on IR with a hamstring injury. He returned in 2017 and was playing rather well on both defense and special teams.

He played in 14 of the 16 contests for the Buccaneers last season but ended up on IR coming out of preseason due to plantar fasciitis. After being waived on September 11th from the IR, he has returned in full health and ready to compete at the strong side LB position.

If Bond can remain healthy, he will become an integral part of the Buccaneers’ pass rush and run stopping defense, essentially what the Buccaneers had in mind when they drafted him.
