The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have recently confirmed that they have released CB Javien Elliot, the Walk-On King, and signed CB De’Vante Harris and LB Kevin Minter to contracts.

Minter is a veteran linebacker originally drafted by the Cardinals in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He has played in 70 games, starting in 44 and recording 4 passes defended, 1 forced fumble, and 256 tackles. After playing out his 4-year $4.39m contract with the Cardinals in 2016, he signed a 1-year $4.25m contract with the Bengals. The NY Jets signed him in early April of 2018 but released him during 53-man roster cuts.

CB De’Vante Harris was signed by the New Orleans Saints after going undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons with the Saints, playing in 21 games and recording 30 tackles, one fumble recovery, and 3 passes defended. In 2017, he was waived by the Saints and re-signed to the practice squad, ultimately signing on to the Saints’ practice squad earlier this year. He was waived again on August 11. The following day the Buccaneers claimed him off of waivers. Harris suffered a hamstring injury and was placed on IR in September and waived with an injury settlement 3 days later.

Recently released Javien Elliot was signed by the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in May of 2016. He was released in early September of 2016 and then signed to their practice squad the following day. He was later promoted to the active roster towards the end of November 2016. In 2018 he was again waived by the Buccaneers and again re-signed to the practice squad then later promoted to the active roster at the beginning of the 2018 season. Elliot has played in 27 games for the Buccaneers, recording 1 pass defend and 16 tackles.
