Well, so much for Koetter thinking he was going to start Winston next week. Looks like he will stick with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm in New York.
Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 406 yards, but failed to find the end zone. He threw two costly interceptions and lost a critical fumble. But it seems that Koetter is more comfortable with Fitzpatrick running the offense than Jameis Winston. However, in a press conference today, Koetter did mention that he plans on starting Winston some point in the season.
For now, Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the guy and that kind of rubs a lot of fans the wrong way. Many fans have thrown their hands up in disgust over the team’s performance, losing six of the last seven games and are actually calling for QB Ryan Griffin. Realistically, what do we have to lose at this point? Jobs are on the line that is certain, but the idea of a six or seven-game winning streak is as far-fetched as an idea can get.
