Why Now Is the Time to Fire Koetter

Last week I did an article on the real reason coaches get fired.  Now I follow up that article with why now is the time to fire head coach Dirk Koetter.

A head coach’s job is simply to put the correct people in place to be successful. Well, part of that job is letting them be successful. Not in taking their jobs upon himself and making a complete mess of them. Koetter has proven he cannot just let his people do their jobs.

Firing Koetter at season’s end despite record is inevitable, and for once the Glazers are indeed justified in doing so. Now if the Glazers aren’t on the phone right now lining up a replacement (John Harbaugh), then we will most likely be right back to square one.

Sentiment amongst fans suggests they bring in a VP to run football operations. This is indeed what should be done. But does anyone actually have faith about who it will be? Koetter taking over play-calling was ironically the nail in his own coffin.
