Jameis Winston and Ryan Jensen displayed a total lack of discipline with their sideline antics during Sunday’s game against the Saints.
The Buccaneers were up 7-3, but a Ryan Jensen unnecessary roughness penalty and a previous holding penalty on the same drive sparked Jameis Winston’s wrath. The argument got to the point where a couple of players, Guard Ali Marpet, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and coach George Warhop, had to intervene.
Winston and Jensen got into each other’s faces, yelling and pointing at one another. Arguing happens quite often, but this one showed the unraveling of the Buccaneers despite the fact they scored on the next drive. Sadly, the world was able to witness this argument as it was shown on TV.
Jensen said that he and his quarterback are in a good place, that they are a family and fight as families do. “We’re both competitors out there and coming off a bad play. As families, families fight. Me and Jameis are highly competitive guys and we cleared the air and we’re good” (via Rick Stroud on Twitter).
Let’s hope that the beef between the two is really squashed. We do not want that to spill over to the next game.
