*Updated at 3:27PM EST to reflect that Cameron Wolf first reported the Fitzpatrick signing. Earlier version had stated Ian Rapoport of NFL.com
It is being reported per Cameron Wolf of ESPN that the Miami Dolphins have signed former Buccaneers backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick to a 2-year $11 million deal.

Fitzpatrick’s deal could increase up to $20 million over the life of the deal. Not bad deal for the journeyman QB.
Miami is giving its new quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick a two-year, $11 million deal with incentives that could boost it to between $17 and $20 million, per source.

Fitzpatrick, 36, started in place over the suspended franchise QB Jameis Winston for the first 4 games of the start of last season. Where he had 3 back-to-back 400+ yard games. He would then start another 3 games in place of the struggling Winston.
For the 2018 season Fitzpatrick threw for 2,366 yards, 17 TD’s, and 12 INT’s. He will now start his next chapter in Miami, as the Dolphins have seemed to found their QB. Even if it’s for the short-term.
Schefter even suggested that this move by the Dolphins could indicate that this could buy them some time to wait to draft a QB until the 2020 draft. Namely Alabama QB Tua Tagovaiola.
Stay tuned for further details.
