Winston’s biggest “flaws” have been turnovers and consistency. Friday he was struggling, Saturday he was solid, Sunday he struggled again. But today, today he has looked sharp.
Jameis Winston is arguably the best quarterback the Buccaneers have ever had. Now granted, that is a low bar, but it’s still a fact. We are tracking Winston’s performance each day during training camp this year. To this point, we have seen him struggle AND excel in head coach Bruce Arians system.
Let’s also give credit where credit is due. Todd Bowles defense has been very aggressive, the defense is now looking like the most improved unit on the team. That alone could be the reason for Winston’s struggles, then again this type of practice, against an aggressive defense might just be what Winston needs.
