During this first 48 hours of the Vita Vea injury saga, life at One Buc Place has continued on. Next man up. According to the Buccaneers, the “early prognosis looked good,” but the results didn’t stop an additional test from being scheduled for Friday. So, unfortunately, Tampa Bay won’t get to see the much-anticipated duo of Ndamukong Suh and Vea in the preseason opener against the Steelers. And being that this is only week one, we won’t see much of the starters anyway.
Bruce Doesn’t Mince Words
But the Arians nugget that stood apart for me was a comment he made about some of the younger guys ahead of tomorrow night’s game. Here’s the full presser:
"Young players – they're going to play the majority of the game, 80 percent of it. One or two of them are either going to get exposed or have good exposure, and that's really what this is all about."

In short, Arians said that Friday’s game will separate the boys from the men. I couldn’t have said it better myself. It’s about time the Buccaneers line up against someone not wearing pewter and red. The fact is, some of these players on the roster today will not be on the roster week 2 of the preseason.
I may be among the minority who actually enjoy the preseason atmosphere. Seasonal watchers see a game with no “entertainment”. Lovers of the sport see men fighting for roster spots on their respective teams for four straight weeks. Huge difference.
