The Buccaneers lost their backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert to a shoulder injury Friday night. The team wasted no time bringing in a replacement for Gabbert in Vincent Testaverde.
Testaverde, a former Tampa Jesuit grad, played the 2014 season as a true freshman at Texas Tech. Then transferring to the University of Miami for the 2015/2016 season. Testaverde then transferred to the University of Albany where he sat out the 2017 season before appearing in 8 games and posting 1714 yards and 11 TDs.
To make room for Testaverde, the Buccaneers waived rookie linebacker Kahzin Daniels with an injury designation. This will be Testaverde’s third time with the team.
