The Buccaneers brought in Shaq Barrett during the offseason to bolster their pass rush! To say that was a good pickup by the Buccaneers may be a bit of an understatement.
The NFL has named Shaq Barrett the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for September. Barrett is the first Buccaneer to win the award since Barrett Ruud did it in September of 2007.
Shaq Barrett joins a pretty elite group of Buccaneers defenders to win the award. That list includes, Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp, Simeon Rice and the previously mentioned Ruud.
