And to think, to this day, Twitter continues to exist as a free website.
Yes, it can be nothing but a barbarous hellscape that destroys everything and everyone you hold dear, but it can also be nothing but a pure source of entertainment.
Especially when Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes are beefin’ it up.
It all started when Salvador Perez, the catcher for the Kansas City Royals, made a Super Bowl bet with Rays outfielder Brett Phillips back in February. The bet was simple: Perez would have to wear a Tom Brady jersey to Kauffmann Stadium during the Royals-Rays batting practice meetup if the Bucs won and Phillips would have to don a Patrick Mahomes jersey if the Chiefs won.
We got a deal!!! Can’t wait to see you wear that beautiful Red Jersey!!! Bring it home KC!!! @Chiefs back to back @tkelce @PatrickMahomes

Well, we all know what happened. The Bucs dominated the Chiefs en route to a 31-9 win and the franchise’s second Super Bowl win.
Perez made good of his promise on Tuesday, wearing a Brady jersey to batting practice, but things really took off once the Royals decided to declare that “Sometimes words speak louder than actions“.
A bet is a bet.
Good to see you, Mav. pic.twitter.com/xMKM9lNF9h

Then Brady, the epitome of hard work equals success and a Twitter-savvy mind, decided to offer his thoughts on the whole subject.
Nahhh I think actions always speak louder than words 😉 https://t.co/OkilMGgwN5

The best part about the situation is that Mahomes is part-owner of the Royals, so you know seeing one of the franchise’s best players draped in Brady pewter and red had to sting just a bit.
Enter Mahomes.
I guess we will see in 20 years… 🤷🏽♂️😎 https://t.co/CnndcM9ihj

Well, that escalated quickly.
Brady currently holds a 7-1 edge over Mahomes in terms of Super Bowl rings. 20 years is certainly enough time to catch up, but it’s going to be really hard, especially over the next two years. You know, since Brady plays in the NFC, and all that.
But at least Mahomes has Twitter to vent his frustrations if it ever comes to be.
