The Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to get big in this mock draft. Addressing needs on both lines while also adding two offensive weapons.
Johnson has tackle experience, but at the pro level, he’s best suited as an interior blocker. At the point of attack he is excellent. He has excellent power and can impose his will. Johnson will definitely compete for if not win the Buccaneers open guard position.
Thomas is a powerful athlete flexibility and a great first step. He has shown great production from multiple positions against the run and pass. He is a natural 3-4 edge setter with multiple pass rushing moves.
Kellen Diesch is very athletic for his size. His quickness and fluidity are top notch. Diesch is a two-year starter for ASU’s pro-style offense. Look for him to be a swing style tackle with an upside of being a starter.
Grant Calcaterra is an athletic tight end with great ball skills. He possesses a great football IQ. He does need to work on his blocking if he’s to succeed at this level. His ability to create mismatches is good if not great.
CJ Verdell runs well through the hole handling contact well. Verdell can catch the ball out of the backfield with no problem. He does struggle with vision to bounce outside, is definitely more of a grind it out style back.
Jordan Jackson is a high-motor defensive lineman that can play defensive end and tackle. His quickness and active hands help him with interior rushing. Jackson is best at getting to the pocket and chasing the play down the line.
