The Tampa Bay Buccaneers issues at the wide receiver position were no secret. From Antonio Brown’s dramatic exit to Chris Godwin’s season-ending knee injury.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians’ appeared on 98.7 FM Arizona Sports’ Wolf & Luke Show. He was asked if he ever tried to recruit retired wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Arians’ response, “When we lost our guys, especially when Chris Godwin got hurt, I called Fitz. Arians said, ‘Coach, I couldn’t run two plays right now, but thanks.’ I said, ‘I just had to check.”

Fitzgerald played under Arians in Arizona from 2013 through 2017. The 38 year old wide receiver out of Pittsburgh amassed 17,492 yards ans 121 touchdowns in what’s sure to be a Hall of Fame career.
