Wirfs, a three-time Pro Bowler, is currently set to play under the fifth-year option of his rookie contract.
Meanwhile, former Jets safety Jordan Whitehead returned to the Buccaneers on a two-year deal after spending time in New York, aiming to enhance his coverage skills.
