The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are waiving wide receiver/ kick returner Deven Thompkins. The Report from Fox Sports’ Greg Auman comes as a bit of a surprise.
“Surprise move, as the Bucs announce they’ve waived (injured) receiver Deven Thompkins, their primary returner the last two years.”
“Thompkins played sparingly on offense, getting 17 catches for 83 yards last year with eight carries for 56 yards. Bucs will have a new returner for 2024 season.”
The report from Auman states his waiving is with an injury designation. This doesn’t prevent the Buccaneers from re-signing him if he were to clear waivers. But as it stands now, the team will have a new kick returner in 2024.
